Otakthalamedu is 4 km from Kumali.From the top of the Otakthalamedu you can see the Kumali and 1st Peacock areas, the Thekkady Lake, Periyar Power House, Kampam Town, and some parts of Sabarimala and Mangaladevi Temple can be seen. It is the border of Tamil Nadu. There is a helipad associated with Heli Taxi at Otakthalamed. This hill stands in the shape of a camel when viewed from Kumali. People here say that you should not go to Switzerland but come to Otakthalamedu. If you stand on top of the watch tower, you will feel strong wind.
